Foam carving project for class, created a replica of a Maori figurehead, along with some of the carvings on the boat’s railings. The head and the railing were carved separately, then attached together.

How Its Made:

- 1.5lb density foam

- carved with a combination of handsaws, Dremels, sandpaper, and rasps

- coated with a mixture of joint compound, glue, and paint

- final paint treatment
